Teruhide(Teru) Sato was a founding member of the Japanese arm of CyberCash, a U.S. online payment company (now known as Veritrans) and a joint venture with SoftBank Corporation, while he was studying at Keio University in 1997. In 1999, he founded BEENOS (formerly known as netprice.com), a global internet and e-commerce business incubator. Teru took the company public on the Tokyo Stock Exchange in 2004 and launched multiple e-commerce businesses during his term as CEO. In 2015, he co-founded BEENEXT, an early stage venture capital firm in Singapore actively investing in India, South East Asia and Japan to support and invest in tech entrepreneurs with an ambitious vision to make a significant impact on society. He visited Turkey in 2012 for the first time and has invested in several tech companies such as Akakce and Iyzico since then.
Teru was selected as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum in 2008. Also, he is a director of Asia Pacific Initiative, an executive committee member of Silicon Valley Japan Platform and a board member of Endeavor Japan.
