In 1997, in partnership with Softbank, Teruhide Sato co-founded Cybercash Japan (now known as VeriTrans), an online payment company that went public in 2004 and later was acquired by Digital Garage. In 1999, he also co-founded BEENOS (formerly netprice) and as CEO took it public on the Tokyo Stock Exchange in 2004. He has typically invested in commerce platforms and payment platforms in emerging markets such as Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Vietnam, India, and Turkey. Notable Investments are Tokopedia, Veritrans Indonesia, Shopclues, CitrusPay, KartRocket, Akakce, Iyzico, Duriana, Paynamics, and Nearex. Member of Nippon Keidanren(Japan Business Federation), YPO and YGL(WEF).
