How to Break through the Fear of Failure and Learn to Say YES to Opportunities

In order to achieve even the highest goals, to be 10+ times better than the rest and to truly make an impact in their niche, all entrepreneurs must embrace the fact that there are some big sacrifices they should do. One of the things that all entrepreneurs, who want to outrun the competition and to become leaders in the market, should accept and learn how to control, is the fear of failure that might be holding them back.

To be successful as an entrepreneur, you should be ready to think out of the box, to embrace change and to say YES when you see an upcoming opportunity that might be challenging, but seems like the right thing that has to be done.

Learn how the people who work for Google deal with the fear of failure, spark their creative genius and embrace different opportunities from the TED Talk below. Don’t let the fear of failure to hold you back on your way to doing what you want to do and what you believe you should be doing. Don Dodge at TEDxAthens talks about these important topics that form significant part of the working process of every ambitious entrepreneur and leader.

Success is not the finish line

Many entrepreneurs fail because they concentrate so much on the success they have achieved after certain point of doing business, but forget the fact that what’s making a person stronger is the drive to keep moving forward. Success is not the end of a venture. The ambition to improve and to achieve more is what makes an entrepreneur stand out from the crowd. Keep moving forward and you will achieve much more than you expected. I am not saying that you don’t have to celebrate your success – even the opposite – celebrate it proudly, because you have earned it. But, if you want to make a real difference, to change the world as we know it and to make a difference to your customers, you should be ready to move forward and reach out for more.

Encourage your team members to fail

If a person is afraid that they will be fired if they make mistake with their work, it is more likely (understandably!) that they will set smaller, easily-achievable goals, which will always result in “success”. But small achievements are not what you are aiming for, right? Inspire your team to think out of the box in order to dream bigger and to achieve more with their work. Great success comes after many failures and you should be ready to inspire action and creativity not fear of failure.

Your environment truly matters

The people that you surround yourself with will have tremendous impact not only on your work, but also on the way you feel about it. If you want to be inspired, motivated and constantly aiming for improvement, searching for solutions and creating history, you may need to be surrounded by people, who want the same. The level of creativity and inspiration around you will help you to be more creative and inspired yourself. Look around you! If you don’t feel the energy you would like to be feeling, it is time to take a step and get in touch with like-minded people as yourself.

Don’t settle for the ordinary when you can aim for the impossible

If you want to create history, you should do something that no one else has ever done before. If you do the same thing as the rest or the same thing that you have always done before, and you expect different results, you will be more than disappointed. Aim for the impossible and work hard on the things that really matter!
