About Investor

Vivek has over 15 years of experience as a startup lawyer, advisor, and mentor to early-stage startup founders in Silicon Valley, New York, and across the world. Vivek works with teams ranging from “2 people in a garage” to global multinational corporations. He has been a mentor with leading accelerators and incubator programs such as Techstars, 500 Startups, Founders Institute, Startup Chile, and many others. He has a passion for advising companies that are looking to “go global” and he has worked with teams from around the world.

Vivek started his career with the top tech law firm in the world, Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati. Later, he worked with several leading global firms such as Norton Rose Fulbright and Bracewell before launching his own law firm. He’s now in the process of launching a startup/tech focused boutique law firm, DB Law, which will provide corporate, securities, and commercial assistance to scaling startup technology companies from around the world.

Vivek is working on developing critical approaches to the digital economy and is in the process of launching a Global Digital Futures Institute at a prominent university in Europe. Vivek also works on film, music, and art creation, curation, and production. In 2015 and 2016, Vivek worked with ReProduce Artists, a Delhi-based agency, to develop and curate the first showcases ever in SXSW history to focus exclusively on avant-garde musical production out of South Asia. He has a monthly show, “Nostalgia For An Age Yet To Come”, on Boxout.fm , India’s first independent community radio station, and is part of the core team of Azadi Records, India’s most prominent independent hip hop label. Earlier in 2019, while at Moogfest, he and Abhi Meer spoke on democracy and technology in India and debuted a new DJ project, Hostalgia. He recently initiated a new project, You Are The Icon, with Kai Riedl in Atlanta as part of Flux Project’s “Turbulence” public art/sound installation in September 2019 as well as wrote an essay accompanying Chiraag Bhakta’s exhibit “Why You So Negative?” which opened at Human Resources, Los Angeles in October 2019. as over 15 years of experience as a lawyer advising technology companies around the world.
