What are the main differences between successful and unsuccessful entrepreneurs? Well, the differences are many. But in business, there are no right formulas: sometimes the things that have worked for some people haven’t worked for others.
Reading books, watching motivational videos and attending conferences will not be enough for you to create “the next great company”. Of course, all of this information is very valuable, but in business there is no one and only recipe that will lead you to success. Undoubtedly, there are some key ingredients, which you can embrace in your business approach, but the key to success is strictly individual.
Luckily for me, I have met and talked with many entrepreneurs from all over the world. The majority of them believed in the importance of having a mentor, a person that can guide them along their entrepreneurial way. But, not many of these talented people even mentioned how important it is to discover your inner entrepreneur before you start looking for direction and guidance from other people, no matter how experienced they are.
I think that the time has come for all entrepreneurs to be innovative not only in their business approaches, but also in their personal development goals. Nowadays, entrepreneurs must think and concentrate on their personalities, their personal needs and wants from life and then to jump into the entrepreneurial game.
The importance of commitment
Entrepreneurship needs devotion. Are you ready to devote your time, hard work and full attention to your business? Will this make you happy? I know many people who have great ideas and also know how these ideas can be executed. I know that, if they start their businesses, they will be successful, but they just don’t feel like this is the right thing they want to do. Entrepreneurship is not for everyone, so you need to find the purpose that will be in sync with the things you want to do with your life.
The new wave of “the corporate job” trap
Don’t force yourself to create a business, just because everyone is talking about how great it is to be an entrepreneur. Many people like to call themselves entrepreneurs, when they are clearly freelancers. Actually, does the title matter? Well, in some cases yes. Why? Because often the titles put more pressure on the person than you can even imagine. Be careful with the titles you embrace or you chase, because if you do that it is pretty much sounding like you are being trapped in any other corporate job, trying to climb the ladder.
How to be yourself in business?
Find your business approach and try build your company the way you want it. In the end, whatever motivates you is the key to success. Your motives for creating a business will be what will determine if you will succeed or fail. Don’t look for perfection and for everyone’s approval. Just do what you think is right for your company, be honest with everybody and especially with yourself and you will be one step closer to fulfilling your dreams. Get to know yourself and learn how to trust your gut. Listen to your inner voice and never give up on your dreams. Have strong values and a business purpose and you will never feel regretful for the choices you have made, no matter what the outcomes are.
