ABOUT SPEAKER
Omar Ekram is a Partner at TCV (Tanmiya Capital Ventures), a private equity firm focused on the Egyptian SME market. Ekram is a member of TCV's Investment Committee Ekram also serves as chairman of TCV1, TCV's maiden fund launched in 2017 with investments in Agri Processing, Food Solutions and Financial Services Ekram previously held various positions within the Investment Banking Division of EFG Hermes, During his tenure there, Omar advised on and completed a number of notable transactions with values in excess of USD 1 bn including: the sale of Credit Libanais by EFG Hermes Holding, the Emaar Misr IPO; the Arabian Cement Company IPO; the accelerated Book Building for GB Auto; the sale of Cleopatra Hospital to the Abraaj Group; and the rights issue for GB Auto among others Ekram earned a BA degree in Economics and Finance, with minors in Computer Science and Mathematics, from the American University in Cairo and Columbia University in the City of New York; he is also a Chartered Financial Analyst
