ABOUT SPEAKERS
Ozan Sonmez
Ozan Sonmez is currently the Lead Program Designer of SDG Impact Accelerator; the first Global Social Impact Accelerator Program in Turkey built by UNDP and Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey in partnership with Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation & World Food Program. He was the founding Managing Director of Growth Circuit Accelerator (GCA) in San Francisco which invested to the highest number of Startups built by Global Turks abroad. Ozan helped international startups with at least one Turkish founder, to launch in Silicon Valley through partnerships with partners like UC Berkeley, Draper University, USMAC and ABC Accelerators.
Sander Sillavee
Sander is the Marketing and Communications Manager for Startup Estonia, the governmental agency in Estonia helping to boost and promote Estonian startup ecosystem. Additionally, Sander is running a startup community festival Startup Week Tallinn – a weeklong event uniting all of the startup community in Estonia.
Abdul Malek Al-Jaber
Dr Abdul Malek Al Jaber is the Founder and Chairman of MENA Apps, a regional accelerator in the MENA region specialized in investing in starts-ups and fast growing companies, provides qualified and selected entrepreneurs with an incubator like logistic support as well as coaching for start-ups and innovative ideas and caters for the best exposure for such start-ups and companies over all the MENA region.
Hattan Ahmed
Hattan currently leads the Entrepreneurship Center at KAUST, delivering the university’s entrepreneurship vision. He believes in young people as change agents of the future and that universities play a key role in creating national economic impact. In his role as an advocate for innovation, Hattan works across the entire entrepreneurship ecosystem in the Kingdom, delivering entrepreneurship training, creating corporate innovation programs, and accelerating startups that will contribute to the national transformation agenda.
